FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s included?

Check out our what’s included page at What's Included | WoWSkiTours

Who is this holiday for?

Anyone who is a female skier!

All of our ladies are solo travellers joining a group of other solo travellers. All of our clients don’t know each other unless they are returning guests who have skied with us before.

How do I know who’s coming and how do I meet them prior to arrival?

You will be added to a dedicated whatsapp group roughly 2 weeks prior to your arrival. You can introduce yourself, virtually meet your fellow WoW group ladies and potentially organise meet ups for early arrivals, Venice or airport and for those who might wish to travel together.

How much is the deposit and when is full payment due? How do I pay?

£299.00 is required to reserve your tour space. The balance is payable 10 weeks before your arrival date.

Having decided you want to proceed, we will send you a Paypal deposit invoice by email. On receipt of payment, we will then send you a full balance invoice to be paid 10 weeks before arrival.

Paypal deposits will incur between 4 and 5% surcharge depending on where you’re based. Balances can be paid via bank transfer, wire or Paypal.

Can I book more than one tour?

Yes, many of our guests do. We recommend that you book two weeks back to back to avoid extra faff.

Can I book extra nights before or after my trip?

Many of our guests like to give themselves a little more time to avoid the stress of delayed flights or jet lag before or after their trip.

Venice:

Some people prefer to stay in Venice until the first day of their trip and arrive back at the airport in time for pick up with the rest of their group.

You can get to and from Venice central by bus or water taxi.

La Villa (where you’ll be staying):

You can also book extra hotel nights at your chosen hotel.

Please note – All hotels are subject to availability

Transfers to and from the airport outside of your tour dates are not included in the tour price.

Send us an email or give us a call and we can help you book additional hotel nights and transfers.

For further details check out our Getting There page at Getting there | WoWSkiTours

Are airport transfers included? Where do I fly into?

Airport transfers are included for everyone arriving into Venice or Treviso airport. We advise you to check on the suitability of your flights prior to booking. It's really important that once you have booked your flights, we require a confirmation of the following details for both arrival and departure:

  • Airport

  • Airline

  • Flight numbers

  • Flight times

On receipt of your details, we will add them to our database to help advise your fellow travellers which flights are being booked and to organize your transfers.

What time will I be picked up and dropped off?

Inbound Flights: 16.00pm is the deadline for an arrival flight. This allows us to get everyone up to La Villa in time for an evening meal.

Homebound Flights: 12.00 noon is the earliest we advise you to book a return flight. Approximately 4 ½ hours, including a 2 hour check in is required from the taxi departing the ski resort to your flight departure time.

Can I change my trip dates?

Yes, subject to availability and this must be done within the same ski season.

What happens if I need to cancel?

You must do so in writing. Cancellation charges will depend on when we receive your written notification.

  • Cancellation made more than 10 weeks before the departure date: you forfeit the deposit.

  • Cancellation made 0 days to 10 weeks before the departure date: you forfeit 100% of invoice

  • No show on the departure date: you forfeit 100% of invoice

Please note that you should check the terms of your travel insurance to ensure cover against cancellation.

*All our tours are subject to a minimum number of bookings, and we therefore reserve the right to cancel your booking should the numbers for your chosen tour not be sufficient. In this event we will return all monies which you have paid.

Performance anxiety?

You might find that some of your fellow WoW ladies are feeling exactly the same way you are. Perhaps you haven’t skied solo before, skied in a while or you might just be suffering from initial anxiety. This is exactly why, on the first morning we take you away from the crowds, down some gorgeous long cruisy blues to help you find your feet; we might have a slightly longer coffee or lunch break so you can draw breath, relax and get some quality time with the group to feel more at ease. By the end of day 1, you’ll have made some friends and will be looking forward to the rest of a stress-free week.

This is a holiday, it’s supposed to be fun and we’re all adults, so if you feel tired or just fancy some time out feel free to do so. If possible, please let us know the evening before

Will I have free time?

Yes. We aim to finish skiing around 4.30pm so you have until dinner to take advantage of some ‘me’ time. We also give you one day off per week to either free ski, relax or go on a small adventure.

What if I wanted to organise extra activities?

We will try and help you organise anything needed, whether it be Nordic walking, snowshoe walking, ice skating etc and even manicures, hair or spa appointments.

What’s the difference between off piste intro/ on piste solo ski holiday and the rifugio week?

Our off-piste intro week is an introduction to the techniques and safety procedures (and fun!) involved in off piste/back country skiing. Overseen by our fully qualified IFMGA mountain guides the aim is to get you skiing in the powder off the beaten track as soon as possible.

Our on-piste weeks are a varied programme of full day on piste itineraries taking in the best of the Dolomites.

Our rifugio week is as above but includes a mini ski safari with an overnight stay in one of the mountain huts dotted high up on the slopes. Shared / dormitory B&b with dinner included.

Please note the extra accommodation and food is at the client’s expense.

Can I join if I’m a snowboarder?

Snowboarders are welcome, the more the merrier!

Insurance

Winter sports and third-party liability insurance have now become mandatory in the Dolomites. Please contact your insurance provider to make sure you are covered for all eventualities. If required, additional third-party liability only

insurance can be bought online at Assicurazione sci e snowboard: polizza con skipass | 24hassistance. The cost is 3 euros per day. We can help you do this on your arrival day if you require.

Off Piste skiers, please ensure that you have the appropriate off piste / back country cover.

How do I organise my skipass?

A 6 day Dolomiti SuperSki all mountain ski pass should be purchased in advance.

Go to www.dolomitiskipass.com

Advanced online purchases will benefit from a 5% discount. Once purchased, you will receive an email with a ǪR code that we will then help you scan at the ski pass issue machine on the first morning. This will also help avoid delays.

What to bring?

Please check out our what to bring page at what to bring | WoWSkiTours

Are towels and hairdryers provided?

Yes, all our hotels provide towels and hairdryers in every room.

How do hotels/bars/shops usually take payment? Can I use apple pay?

We usually advise bringing a couple of hundred euros for sundries to avoid any extra currency charges, but everywhere now accepts card and apple pay. Several ATMs are available in the village. For people coming from the US, you might want to look into getting a Revolut card to avoid extra charges.
